Covestic is searching for Editorial Subject Matter Experts to serve our growing business at a Fortune 500 enterprise client. Ideal candidates will have a strong written and verbal communication skills along with savvy tech writing abilities. You will develop customer-facing system updates translating technical information into customer friendly updates for consumers and 3rd party partners. You will also provide review and editing of technical service updates for technical and executive management. These technical service updates may be for either high priority issues requiring immediate response or reviewing standard outgoing day-to-day notifications. Additional responsibilities may include preparing process documentation in a variety of technical manual formats using appropriate style guides or other assignment documentation projects. This position requires the ability to gather, analyze and acquire subject knowledge by interviewing, eliciting or observing performance of production methodology, referring to technical specifications and illustrations to write documentation that translates technical information into clear readable documents that can be used by technical and non-technical people.
Required Qualifications:
Must be proficient to expert level using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, InfoPath, and PowerPoint)
Must have familiarity with and ability to write engagingly and convincingly for web social media applications like Twitter
1 to 4 years of technical writing experience (including experience writing a customer facing documentation
Well-developed editing and writing skills directed at diverse audiences, as well as demonstrated experience in format, style, and composition
Extensive command of the English language (grammar, punctuation, syntax) with active voice writing abilities
Highly organized individual with strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead, as well as participate in project teams
Ability to quickly attain knowledge "on the fly" of the "Live" system, internal communication policies and management functions
Ability to work with minimal supervision in an fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint administration, and Wiki are preferred
Familiarity with web-based social media applications like Twitter
Basic technical knowledge of the following: Windows 2000/2003 Server, IIS, SQL server,
Transact SQL, and computer networking
College degree in related field or equivalent experience
