Not-for-Profit in White Plains seeks a talented Grant Writer
Job Description: Individual reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and is responsible for expanding support for programs and operations from corporate and foundation sources. S/he is responsible for the completion of required status reports on existing grant relationships as well as the development of new requests to prospect corporations and foundations. S/he is the chief staff support for the Corporate Council: the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate annual donors. S/he participates in the organization of quarterly teleconferences among corporate council members on topics of interest. Individual will track actions/tasks in Raiser’s Edge and prepare reports as required.
Desired Skills: Bachelor’s Degree required. Highly-motivated individual must work well within a small non-profit, team-oriented organization. Must possess excellent communications skills, especially writing and be proficient in Raisers’ Edge. Individual should have 3-5 years experience in non-profit setting writing proposals. Ideal candidate will have opportunistic sensibilities: the ability to recognize and seize upon funding opportunities as they are uncovered. Comfort with and the ability to research and synthesize potential funding opportunities and match to programmatic initiatives. Candidate must be able to manage several priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
