Overview:
As a Content Editor, your main task will be to provide support with the creation of commercial webpage content for local hotels, maintaining up-to-date information and quality of content on the Booking.com website.You will be in contact with hotels and the Hotels Department on a daily basis in order to validate information and acquire content essentials (photos, room features etc.) for the hotels webpage on the Booking.com website. It is crucial that you can write commercial copy at native-English level and communicatewith the hotels so they understand the importance of accurate content. Your goal will be to support the promotion by each hotel of its offering on the website in the most attractive - yet objective and concise – way, in order to provide support to Booking.com BV in attracting visitors. You will also analyze guest reviews and be able to adapt quickly to the latest content guidelines from Booking.com BV. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a good understanding of the hotel industry, a business mind-set.
The Content Editor manages the hotel web-page content including drafting of hotel descriptions, editing, and monitoring the display of guest review feedback onto the website. The position focuses on the highest levels of quality and accuracy of our on-line product, concentrating on building clear, structured and commercial content whilst ensuring accuracy of grammar, spelling and translation. The content editor is responsible for researching, creating, drafting and editing content that best reflects the hotel's facilities and that give the reader a `taste' of their experience if they were to book a room at that hotel.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Establish and maintain close working relationships with Account managers of the hotel department in order to secure up-to-date information for hotel descriptions;Research hotel and liaise with hotel contact in order to draft and create "outstanding" hotel landing pages;Draft "content-rich" web-copy that accurately reflects the description and facilities of the hotel, resulting in maximum reservations for that hotel and of course resulting in increased revenue;Review and continually improve web-copy, advising hotelier's as appropriate by recommending accurate text changes that will increase bookings for the hotel, adapting the text where necessary to ensure it is appropriate for the target audience;Correct spelling, grammatical errors, check facts and ensure style consistency throughout, including carrying out significant re-writing when required, ensuring the hotels are satisfied that the changes made;Ensure webpage content is maintained to the very highest quality standards, thoroughly proof reading and quality checking website content on an ongoing basis;Co-ordinate and review translated texts (liaison with translators) for international web-pages, concentrating on accuracy, grammar, spelling and in accordance with translation deadlines;Adopt effective and efficient personal working practices in order to maximize time spent quality web-content management activity;Pro-actively contribute ideas and suggestions regarding the website and our product from interactions with hoteliers, guests and your own knowledge of our products/tools to ensure that website content is optimized and guest expectations are exceeded;Monitor self-achievement towards content management targets including maintaining hotel data accuracy via regular spot checks;Keep up to date with web-related developments, for example accessibility issues;Attend and participate in team meetings/ workshops.Required Skills:
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, basic photo editing and Internet);
Excellent writing and grammatical skills;Fully fluent in English required, multi-lingual a plus;Experience in creating commercial content and writing/editing in English;Quick and resourceful at desktop research;Pro-active, sense of responsibility, friendly and can work independently;Flexibility, accuracy, strong analytical skills and an eye for detail;Great face-to-face and telephone communication skills;Team player, motivated and enjoys to work in e-travel and hospitality;Business focused;Positive attitude;Flexible, accurate, stress resistant.Required Education and Experience:
Associates degree or equivalent work experience;
